How we deliver
Four ways to work with Wright Contracting — pick the delivery method that fits your project, your schedule and your appetite for risk.
01 · Pre-Construction & Estimating
Start on solid ground
Conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, constructability and phasing review, long-lead procurement planning and bid packaging. We estimate in-house — the people who price the job are the people who will build it.
- Conceptual and schematic budgets, value engineering
- Scope-gap review of drawings and specifications
- Schedule development with long-lead items tracked from day one
- Subcontractor prequalification and bid leveling
02 · General Contracting
The delivery method doesn't change how we build
Hard bid, negotiated or design-build — the estimate comes from the same people, the same superintendent runs the job, and the same closeout process ends it. Design-bid-build is simply the route most public projects take.
We understand the administration that comes with public work — SBC procedures, certified payroll, owner-furnished equipment, phased turnover — and we price the risk honestly.
- Public work: UT, UTIA, State of Tennessee, PSCC, Knox County, City of Oak Ridge, Town of Farragut
- Federal: Tennessee Air National Guard, ORNL / ORISE
- 24 State of Tennessee and local public contracts in the last five years, $39.9M in all
- Bonded and insured for projects of any size — TN license unlimited
03 · Construction Management & Design-Build
One team, one point of accountability
When an owner wants a builder at the table from concept, we lead the design team, carry the budget and own the schedule. Wright's leadership brings decades of Construction Management, Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build experience on high-profile Knoxville projects — that experience sets the approach for every CM and design-build job we take on.
- Design-build with architect/engineer partners we've delivered with before
- CM-at-risk with guaranteed maximum price
- Open-book cost reporting with Jonas Premier job cost
04 · Self-Performed Work
Our own crews where it counts
Wright self-performs the work that keeps a phased job moving: temporary protection and dust, noise and infection controls; cut-and-patch; and quality control and punch-list completion. Doing that work ourselves lets us react to unforeseen conditions the same day and hold the quality bar without waiting on a sub.
Larger trade scopes go to specialty subcontractors we have worked with for years. We would rather have the right trade on the work than force it in-house.
